A former beauty queen was forced to barricade the door while sleeping in a resort room in the Dominican Republic during a nightmarish trip.
Whitney Sharp, 30, was staying at the Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana with about 90 other guests for a wedding party when she and her girlfriends began experiencing thefts and break-ins, she claimed in a TikTok video. .

“I was there for a wedding and I think we did our best to make sure our friends who were getting married had a really great time,” she said in a TikTok video.
“So we were obviously trying not to make a big deal about what was actually going on…but it was a nightmare vacation. It was very dangerous.
“I would barricade the door before going to bed at night. I would sometimes take off the belt of my bathrobe and tie it to the door to use as a lock.”

“Most of us have had something stolen,” she wrote. “The bride’s grandmother had her room broken into while she was sleeping and even her CPAP machine, which helps her breathe, was stolen. A friend of mine in the room next door had her laptop stolen.
“For this reason, I decided to put a ‘do not disturb’ sign in my room. ”
Despite being careful, her necklace was still stolen. She also said resort staff were “taking wallets and cell phones out of bags” during reception after guests left them on the table, and that there were charges on the bill that she didn’t pay. He also claimed that there was.

Sharp is not alone in claiming thefts have occurred at the resort, with nearly 60 members of the “Victims of the Majestic Mirage” Punta Cana theft online group.
A number of people shared similar statements to Mr Sharp, claiming that cash was stolen from a safe in their room and that their bags were searched by staff after they claimed the theft.
