The entrance looks like a 1950s butcher’s shop, but once you go further inside it’s a completely different atmosphere.
Hyatt Ziva Kap Cana has opened the brand’s first speakeasy, The Blind Butcher, a multi-sensory experience that blends dining with live entertainment.
While this isn’t the first all-inclusive speakeasy (that title goes to Rabbit Hole, which opened at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in 2015), it is a significant new concept for what was already one of Cap Cana’s premier all-inclusive resorts.
The restaurant bar will feature “carefully selected lighting” and an expertly designed bar, providing tableside entertainment.
The meal will focus on South American cuisine and feature a four-course meal “full of surprises that have to be seen to be believed,” as the resort puts it.
“The Blind Butcher is a testament to our relentless effort to provide Playa guests with a unique and unparalleled experience and constantly elevate the quality of our service,” said Fernando Muret, executive vice president and chief investment officer of Playa Hotels and Resorts. “A few years ago, hoteliers may have feared guests with culinary aspirations, but we are ready to welcome and delight them. Rather than a plentiful but bland buffet, we understand that all-inclusive guests want to try new gourmet expressions.”
Of note, the Blind Butcher is open to both resort guests and outside guests.
