The PGA Tour’s newest event in South Carolina this week, the RBC Heritage, will feature many of the world’s best players, while other tour professionals will be competing in the Corales Puntacana Championship at Corales Golf Club at Punta Cana Resort & Club.
Matt Wallace beat Nikolaj Hojgaard to win the 2023 title, his first PGA Tour victory and taking home $684,000 of the $3.8 million prize pool.
This year, the prize money has been increased, with players competing for a total of $4 million, meaning whoever wins on Sunday night will walk away with $720,000 richer.
But this week’s prize money is a fraction of the $20 million being paid out at the other PGA Tour event at Harbour Town, which will award just $400,000 less to the winner than the total prize money at the event being held this week in the Dominican Republic.
Still, financial rewards aren’t the only thing players are competing for. The winner will receive 300 FedEx Cup points, and the tournament also offers a chance to earn world ranking points. This week’s winner is projected to earn 25.4 points.

Matt Wallace won last year’s title but is not in this week’s field, but the players he beat will be. Since losing by one stroke to the Englishman in 2023, Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard’s career has gone from strength to strength, playing for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup at Marco Simone and finishing a respectable 16th in the Masters.
Hojgaardt is also the highest ranked player in the field, ranked 34th, and will be feeling confident of his first PGA Tour win this week.
Other big names competing include Alex Noren, who was part of Europe’s Ryder Cup-winning team in 2018, and seven-time PGA Tour winner Billy Horschel. Also competing are Worldwide Phoenix Open runner-up Charley Hoffman, rising star Alex Fitzpatrick and former world number four Matt Kuchar.
Chad Ramey, who won in 2022, has also played well, as has Joel Dahmen, who won a year ago.
Where will the Corales Puntacana Championship take place?
The tournament will take place at Puntacana Resort & Club’s Corales Golf Club. The course was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2010. It features six holes along the ocean, with the final three holes known as “Devil’s Elbow.” The 18th hole forces players to make a carry over Corales Bay.
How much is the prize money for the Corales Puntacana Championship?
Players will compete for a total prize pool of $4 million, an increase of $200,000 from the 2023 tournament. This week’s winner will take home $720,000 and the runner-up will receive $436,000.
