Pristine beaches, lush rainforests and winding rivers – the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking a more untouched Caribbean experience.
Now the region has a new resort that combines all-inclusive convenience with easy access to the area’s natural wonders: Wyndham’s first all-inclusive, family-friendly Wyndham Oltra Samana debuted this week in the Dominican Republic.
Alltra, short for “all-inclusive travel for everyone,” is Wyndham’s primary all-inclusive brand in the Caribbean, where the company already has two resorts open, in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
The 404-room hotel, near the beach town of Las Galeras, will be operated by all-inclusive company Playa Hotels & Resorts, which said construction has already begun on the resort’s new water park.
Wyndham also told Caribbean Journal this week that it plans to add another all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic later this year, with plans to sign and open the Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana. (More broadly, Wyndham opened another all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean last summer with the opening of Wyndham Grand Sam Rose Castle.)

The brand’s Punta Cana resort will be located in the Uvero Alto district of the Punta Cana metropolitan area and will feature 12 dining options and 620 suites on the site of the former Dreams Punta Cana resort.
This marks the second major rebranding for the 620-room property, which reopened in late 2022 as what was then the Jewel Punta Cana Resort.
If you’re planning a vacation to Samana, Wyndham says it’s offering discounts of up to 50% when you book by April 30 for stays through the end of March 2025.
