If you’re planning a trip to Europe, prepare for your trip with these helpful tips from ALG Vacations.
A travel advisor can “get you there,” but they can’t do everything for you. Before you go, here are some tips to make your trip go smoothly.
Check the time
Travel expert Dianna DelTorto, senior manager of partnership marketing in Europe for ALG Vacations, noted that travelers need to be mindful of the timing of their trips.
“Be aware of major religious and bank holidays, as shops may be closed at certain times of the day or even closed completely.”
Download the Travelogue
ALG Vacations has done research on many popular destinations in its Travelogue series, and these brochures can be downloaded, printed and customised. European destinations with their own guides include France and Monaco, Italy, Greece, Spain and the UK and Ireland, which have their own editions.
Set a flexible pace
Don’t try to cram everything into one day – everything is close and accessible, but there’s no need to rush.
“Don’t make too many stops on one trip,” says Deltort. “You might be tempted to do it all on one vacation, but moving stops means you’ll lose at least half a day of exploration time on the ground.”
