ALG Vacations hosted its second annual Kindness Conference at Secrets Tides Punta Cana, featuring a keynote address by Emmy Award-winning television, film and stage actress and singer Hannah Waddington.
Dedicated to celebrating and promoting kindness in the travel industry, the 2024 conference brought together a select group of 40 next generation travel advisors committed to making a positive impact around the world. Additionally, ALGV unveiled the inaugural Kindness Connection, featuring 40 seasoned travel advisors with over 20 years of experience in the industry. The event was joined by 10 emerging leaders from ALG Vacations’ marketing, sales, operations and finance teams, as well as notable representatives from Trisept, Amstar DMC and Inclusive Collection, part of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
Under the theme “Kindness in Action,” the conference focused on three core principles that embody ALG Vacations’ ethos and commitment to compassion and kindness: kindness to yourself, kindness to others and kindness on travel.
“We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations and welcome to everyone who attended this year’s industry-leading event,” said Jackie Marks, Head of Global Trade Brands, ALG Vacations. “This year we once again brought together an incredible group of some of the kindest, brightest and most influential travel advisors under the age of 40, along with seasoned advisors with over 20 years of experience. Together, we look forward to furthering our mission of caring for others and giving back through travel.”
“Hannah Waddingham not only spreads kindness through her performance in Ted Lasso, but also by embodying the pillars of kindness in her daily life,” Marks added. “She was truly someone to share our message and empower our group to place kindness at the center of everything we do.”
Conference attendees participated in discussions and workshops to explore the impact of kindness in the travel industry, share valuable industry insights, and foster meaningful connections. The agenda included sessions on professional development, wellness, self-care, giving back to communities in need, and promoting respect for diverse cultures and destinations.
Participants visited the Cañada Honda Rural School and the World’s Best Fund for La Níñez Desamparada, donating supplies and helping with minor renovations to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for students. The Fund fosters a mission to care for vulnerable and abandoned children, which ALGV strongly supports.
“At ALG Vacations, everything we do represents our purpose: caring for people to be their best selves. Reflecting on our purpose is the foundation of everything we do at ALG,” said Ray Sniski, group president, ALG Vacations.
He added, “Compassion is not just a concept, it is a guiding principle that shapes how we interact with each other and the world around us. This conference serves as a testament to our shared commitment to foster a more compassionate and sustainable future for travel.”
