Puntacana Group Executive President Frank Elias Rainieri and Arajetto Founder and President Victor Pacheco stressed that the partnership will have a significant impact on increasing Arajetto’s passenger numbers and revitalizing tourism in the eastern Dominican Republic.
Pacheco said Punta Cana International Airport will become Alajet’s second hub, allowing the airline to connect the popular tourist destination with an extensive network of destinations and more than 200 connecting combinations. Alajet’s primary hub will continue to be Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo.
“We are committed to ensuring that Alajet continues to be the airline of choice for all Dominicans. That is why we aim to operate from all airports in the country and offer them the opportunity to travel to different destinations at the lowest prices in the market,” Pacheco added.
Rainieri expressed his gratitude to Arajet for selecting Punta Cana Airport and involving the company in its expansion plans to boost tourism and economic growth in the country.
“We are very pleased to welcome Alajet as a commercial partner in our airport community and are confident that this collaboration will be a success. With these new routes, our airport continues to expand its network of destinations and connections internationally and consolidate its position as the most important airport in the Dominican Republic,” Rainieri said.
Punta Cana Airport handles 68% of the country’s tourist air traffic, connecting 75 cities in 34 countries through 58 airlines and serving more than 9 million passengers annually.
Specific destinations for the Arajette departing from Punta Cana will be announced at a later date.
Alajet was the Dominican Republic’s largest airline in passenger movements during the first four months of 2024, accounting for 8% of the total passengers transported in the country in May last year.
