Club Med said further renovations are planned for its Cancun and Punta Cana properties.
The Cancun resort, located at the tip of the Riviera Maya, will undergo “numerous renovations” over the next 12 months to enhance guests’ experience, a press release said.
According to the brand, the main pool and deck area will be transformed into a spacious infinity pool adjacent to a natural lagoon, and there will also be a new beach and pool bar just steps from the beach.
This vibrant new space promises to embrace the “dreamscape of Tulum” with a “bohemian-chic aesthetic.”
As part of the renovations, select Deluxe Rooms located near the Beach Bar and the Sport & Wellness Island will be upgraded to offer even more comfort and luxury.
These rooms feature sophisticated design that combines the fresh and vibrant essence of Mayan culture with modern furnishings, spacious layouts and private balconies that evoke the serene beauty of the ocean and lagoon.
The company plans to complete this by July 2025.
This December, Club Med Cancun’s Family Oasis will be significantly enhanced with new features designed to enrich the family experience.
Highlights include a Mayan-themed splash park, dynamic water park, mini pools and play areas, fun zones and mini cinemas, providing kids with a whole new adventure during their holidays.
The Children’s Club will be relocated next to the Aguamarina Family Oceanfront Rooms, minimizing travel distances from family accommodations and providing a convenient new location that combines the spirit of exploration with the wonder of Mayan culture.
Additionally, Baby Club Med will be introduced, providing a dedicated space for children aged 4 to 23 months to enjoy activities such as music workshops, nature walks, painting and cooking classes as well as daily family events such as pool parties and snack times – all under the care of specially trained staff.
Club Med said the resort will remain open during the renovations.
The updates follow Club Med Cancun’s recent developments, introduced earlier this year, including a Sports and Wellness Island with multi-sport courts, trapeze and bungee, bocce ball, mini golf, archery and a tranquil yoga palapa overlooking the lagoon.
Club Med Punta Cana opens splash park
Club Med Punta Cana is also set to open a splash park in December 2024, just in time for the holidays.
The park features exhilarating water slides, splash zones and interactive water play facilities.

The expansion follows the resort’s recent renovation, which introduced all-new family rooms, wedding venues, a beauty salon and an all-new dining experience at the resort’s signature Caribbean restaurant, Hispaniola, featuring exclusive vegan dishes created by Food Network chef Chloe Coscarelli.
In addition to the splash park, enjoy over 20 activities including pickleball, trapeze and kayaking – all just 15 minutes from Punta Cana airport.
Club Med Musandam – scheduled to open in 2028
Meanwhile, a new Exclusive Collection resort, Club Med Musandam, is due to open in Oman in 2028.
Club Med Musandam is a 300-room Exclusive Collection (five-star) resort that incorporates Omani culture into design, entertainment, food and beverage, and offers guests access to a private beach with spectacular views.
Located on the Arabian Peninsula with panoramic views of the Persian Gulf and the Hajar Mountains, Musandam is home to the world’s only desert fjord, earning it the nickname “Norway of Arabia.”
Club Med Musandam will include all the amenities Club Med guests have come to expect, including gourmet dining, a children’s club, wellness experiences, adults-only areas, a spa and a range of land and water sports, plus the hassle-free convenience of an all-inclusive vacation.
The resort is just a five-minute boat ride from Khasab city and 2.5 hours from Dubai International Airport.
The project is a collaboration between Club Med, Royal Court Affairs and Omran Group, with over $100 million invested in its development.
Club Med Musandam will be the latest addition to Club Med’s exclusive collection of five-star resorts, spaces, villas, chalets and French-made yachts.
