SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Republic Hotel and Tourism Association (Asonahores) has officially announced the 24th edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange, “DATE 2024,” which is set to take place from April 24 to 26 at the prestigious Paradisus Palma Real Hotel.
Asonahores President David Libre highlighted the importance of DATE as the main marketing platform for the Dominican tourism product and its complementary services, with the objective of continuously strengthening and diversifying visitor inflows to the Dominican Republic.
Libre noted that the Dominican Republic has surpassed 10 million tourists and has a positive tourism environment, but he acknowledged that maintaining and expanding this figure is a challenge, and he aims to strengthen the country’s leadership in the region.
Aggie Rendall, Executive Vice President of Asonahores, cited golf, medical, diving, weddings, adventure and ecotourism as key areas of focus for DATE 2024. These areas will be showcased to complement the established sun and beach tourism offering and attract buyers from key specialty markets.
Lendor detailed efforts to create an event agenda for DATE 2024 to deliver a memorable experience and commercial success for all participants. The agenda will include daily business meetings, exhibitions, cultural activities, press conferences, themed parties and more.
DATE 2024 aims to support the diverse segments of Dominica’s tourism product and allow suppliers to actively interact with specialized buyers. The event aims to facilitate productive business meetings tailored to the various offerings of the Dominican Republic.
In addition to the main event, special activities are also planned, including a welcome cocktail hosted by Karisma Hotels & Resorts on April 23, an opening cocktail at Paradisus Palma Real on April 24 and a closing activity at Secrets Tides Punta Cana Hotel on April 25.
