Whatever the season, the Caribbean Sea is always calling.
From secret hideaways to iconic dreamlands, we’re not all chasing the chance to capture the perfect fall foliage photo.
Some of us still crave sun, sand and luxury resorts.
What better place to be than the Caribbean coastline? Absolutely not!
Three major U.S. airlines have gotten the message across loud and clear, announcing new nonstop service to four Caribbean paradise destinations.
St. Lucia: The Caribbean’s Underrated Luxury Resort
Your first stop will be the stunning island of St. Lucia.
We’d love to present it as a secret hideaway away from the hordes of tourists flocking to places like the Bahamas, but the truth is this gorgeous island just broke its summer tourism record.
Is it fair to say that tourism to this quintessential off-grid paradise, boasting volcanic beaches and beautiful blue waters, is booming?
With otherworldly scenery like the unmissable Piton Mountains, St. Lucia’s majestic landscapes are not only worth exploring, but also the perfect way to indulge in the finer things in life.
American Airlines understands why this destination, filled with luxury hilltop resorts and beachside establishments, is one of the Caribbean’s trendiest getaways.
Starting December 7, 2024, a new flight will operate every Saturday from New York’s JFK airport, allowing you to enjoy some much-needed winter sun.
Punta Cana: The Dominican Republic’s Shining Star
A new report confirms what we already suspected: Yes, Punta Cana remains the number one vacation destination in the Dominican Republic.
I recently vacationed here myself and it definitely lives up to its reputation!
“Bathwater” ticks all the boxes with crystal clear waters, powdery white sand and clean beachfront resorts where you can swim.
Needless to say, it’s extremely safe compared to other famous beach resorts around the world (such as Cancun) and it’s great value for money.
Southwest Airlines is the latest airline to launch new flights to this Dominican paradise, this time departing from Nashville (BNA).
But there’s good news and bad news, guys.
Unfortunately, Tennesseans will have to wait a little longer for this one, but the good news is that Punta Cana is a great spring break destination.
Southwest Airlines will begin operating new flights to Punta Cana (Saturdays only) starting March 8, 2025.
Goodbye Cancun! Hello Tulum!
So, is Maya Train doing well?
In the end, it turns out that following the hype doesn’t always get you there.
Tulum was definitely Mexico’s “it” destination earlier this year, and despite the troubles with the Maya Train, the enchanting beach city has become hugely popular in its own right.
Tulum exceeded all expectations as the other half of its well-known hype was a success.
That’s right, after an initial phase of domestic flight operations, the newly opened Tulum International Airport is finally starting to receive direct flights from the United States.
In fact, 11 US cities now offer direct flights to Tulum, with Detroit being the latest.
Michiganders will be able to hop on a Delta flight on January 11th, just in time to escape the Motor City’s frigid winter temperatures.
Expect warm beach weather, perfect for a premier vacation, but be careful not to get so caught up in the beach that you miss out on the incredible Mayan ruins.
Two new flights to Barbados for sun, sand and serenity
Barbados may be a household name, but it somehow tends to get forgotten in the mix of Caribbean resort destinations.
This beautiful and cultural island is not just a part of a cruise itinerary, but a destination in its own right.
Not all Caribbean paradises offer such welcoming indigenous people and rich culture, but this one does, making a visit to Barbados all the more appealing.
The closest comparison might be Jamaica, as both are former British colonies with deep African traditions.
Plus, they were both very laid back, just how I imagined a “Caribbean vibe” would be.
Unfortunately, the much more popular island of Jamaica has seen new travel advisories issued and negative headlines about safety.
But don’t worry, you can still visit Barbados’ beautiful beaches, luxury resorts and vibrant towns.
You can relax under the parasols on the beach without any worries.
Delta Air Lines will be launching not one but two new flights to Barbados this fall.
The first flights will depart from Atlanta (ATL) and will be offered daily starting November 23rd.
The second will depart from New York (JFK) and will be available on Saturdays only starting December 21st.
