Amidst the melodies of a violin , and despite having sadness on the surface of their skin, a group of Venezuelans demonstrated again on Wednesday night in front of their country’s consulate in Santo Domingo in rejection of the results of last Sunday’s elections, which declared the ruler Nicolás Maduro the winner.
This is the fourth day that they have been speaking out. The group tonight was smaller than on other days and was mostly made up of young people.
There they expressed their gratitude to the Government of Luis Abinader for allowing them to regularize their immigration status in Dominican territory.
We are grateful to this
Government , it was able to help us organize ourselves. In this sense, they closed our
consulate and we want to ask Abinader and all those in charge of Immigration, that many of us are not expiring, at least in my case, my
work card expired
… so, how is the situation now,” said the young Omar Vásquez.
