CAP CANA – President Luis Abinader will officially open the El Dorado Water Park in Cap Cana on Friday, September 13. According to Iberca Mencia, communications and public relations manager for the destination, the event will also be attended by other key figures from the business and tourism sectors.
Eldorado Water Park is set to be a premier attraction that combines thrilling aquatic scenery with stunning natural surroundings and first-class amenities. Construction began in December 2021, with President Abinader and Tourism Minister David Collado leading the groundbreaking ceremony.
The park is designed around the theme of the legendary city of El Dorado, which has long fascinated treasure hunters. The 115,000-square-meter project will be developed in three phases. The first phase will include a 3,000-visitor water park, the Water Temple, a 4,000-seat amphitheater called the El Dorado Arena, and a variety of dining and retail options.
Foreign investment in the project comes from businessman Carlos Cobiera and leading corporate development fund manager GAM Capital.
