La Altagracia – Minister of Tourism David Collado has launched the reconstruction of Domingo de la Cruz Pastoral Street, which connects with Domingo Mais Street in Veron, Punta Cana, with an investment of over RD$64 million. The project aims to improve infrastructure in the area and will serve as an alternative route to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce travel times between the community of Veron and the Coral Highway. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Tourism to improve living conditions in tourist areas across the Dominican Republic.
The project involved reconstructing a 1.8-kilometre stretch of road, constructing a 7-metre-wide two-lane road, as well as constructing 5,400 square meters of footpaths and 3,600 linear meters of curbs. The works also included a drainage system with filters to effectively manage rainwater, ensuring long-term durability. In addition, the road has new horizontal and vertical markings to improve safety and navigation.
