PUNTA CANA – On December 1, Grupo Piñero marked a significant milestone for the Dominican Republic’s hotel industry with the reopening of Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda in Punta Cana. The reopening is the result of an extensive and comprehensive renovation that reflects the group’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation.
With an investment of over €30 million, the renovation has raised the standards of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, renovating all 570 rooms and public areas and introducing new room categories such as the Junior Suite Deluxe Swim Up. In addition, the project also included the addition of innovative culinary concepts, a sports bar and exclusive amenities in line with the latest trends in the tourism industry.
Guests will have access to extensive facilities featuring practical, contemporary architecture that blends in with the tropical surroundings. The hotel has introduced two unique culinary experiences exclusive to the Bahia Principe portfolio: Taino Restaurant and Mongolian Restaurant. Additionally, the renovation will see the creation of a new Kids Club conveniently located next to the luxury theater and water park, ensuring a family-friendly experience.
A highlight of the transformation is the introduction of “Alma Taina,” a concept that immerses visitors in rich Dominican culture through architecture, experiences and gastronomy. The hotel’s seven distinct restaurants each offer a unique themed experience, including international, Taino, Indian, Brazilian, Mongolian and a beachside snack restaurant. Additionally, guests will have access to more than 26 specialty restaurants, 34 bars and nine pools across the other hotels in the Bavaro complex, ensuring a comprehensive and unforgettable experience.
Genaro Benitez, Country Manager of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts in the Dominican Republic, expressed his enthusiasm for the modernization and increased comfort offered to guests. He emphasized the hotel concept’s deep connection to its surrounding environment, aiming to offer an immersive experience that blends culture, essence and experience.
Benitez emphasized that Grupo Piñero is committed to giving guests a sense of the essence and roots of the destinations in which its hotels are located, an initiative that aims to celebrate and showcase the unique culture and richness of each location.
