RIU Hotels & Resorts has announced the reopening of Riu Palace Bavaro in Punta Cana, showcasing upgrades throughout the property.
Following the demolition of the Riu Naiboa, on the adjacent lot, the Riu Palace Bavaro expanded its former premises to create new space for its own facilities.
The hotel will feature family areas for all kinds of water and outdoor activities, dedicated dining options, areas reserved for elite club guests and a new food court open to everyone.
Of the hotel’s 994 rooms, 255 are designed for families and groups of friends visiting the destination.
It has three beds big enough to share the same space and is located in the new family area of Riu Palace Bavaro.
Here, the littlest members of the family can have fun in areas designed for children, such as a mini splash park, a pirate ship, a games park, a cinema, a multi-sports area and eating locations, including a patisserie, taqueria and grill-style Pepe’s food station.
The space’s kids’ club offers the above options as well as a variety of entertainment for three different age groups, including a recreation room and a cupcake decorating station by RIU Art.
All hotel guests receive admission to Splash Water World water park at the RIU complex in Punta Cana, which also features the hotel’s nine pools, and of course, all guests 18 and older can enjoy one of the four themed RIU party evenings held weekly at the complex.
New food court
Riu Palace Bavaro now has a food court with a variety of dishes, from sweet to savory.
Here, all hotel guests can enjoy a variety of food and beverage options, including a pizzeria, a wok restaurant, a fried chicken area, a taqueria, a Pepe’s Food outlet, an ice cream parlour, a crepe, waffle and donut sweets shop, and a bar.
In terms of culinary options, Riu Palace Bavaro continues to offer guests a wide range of restaurants, including the main restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Krystal serving gourmet cuisine, an Asian restaurant, a restaurant serving Italian cuisine, a restaurant serving Mexican cuisine, a steakhouse serving a variety of cuts of meat, and the new American Country Diner serving up popular dishes from across the country. The introduction of Elite Club services also includes an Elite restaurant exclusively for guests who want to take their RIU experience a step further.
A total of 108 rooms are allocated to elite club guests, offering exclusive locations with the best views, 60 of which come with private pools.
These guests will also have access to a dedicated bar, priority check-in area and a private pool with lounge bar.
At the Riu Palace Bavaro, you’ll also enjoy all the usual elite club perks, including in-room premium spirits dispensers, minibars stocked with snacks and a bottle of wine, guaranteed early check-in and late check-out until 1pm, in-room welcome gifts and aromatherapy, and priority reservations at the hotel’s themed restaurants.
New style and design
The renovation of the Riu Palace Bavaro has established a new style and design: understated décor in subtle and elegant colours and greater use of natural light.
This can be seen throughout Riu Palace Bavaro’s rooms and common areas, existing and new restaurants and all eight of the current bars.
These include the Sports Bar (open 24 hours), Joe’s Bar (serving the best cocktails), the Lobby Bar, the Theatre Bar, three swim-up bars, and the two aforementioned bars that are exclusive to elite club guests.
