Riu Hotels & Resorts has reopened the Riu Palace Bavaro All-Inclusive in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, after an extensive renovation and expansion.
The facility has been closed since May.
Riu Palace Bavaro is one of several hotels in Riu’s vast Punta Cana complex, which also includes Riu Palace Punta Cana, Riu Palace Macao and Riu Bambu. As part of the renovation, Riu Naiboa was demolished and Riu Palace Bavaro was expanded to include new amenities and accommodations.
The renovated Riu Palace Bávaro now has 994 rooms, of which 255 are designed for families and groups. The new family accommodation with three beds is located in a newly developed area that includes attractions such as a mini splash park, a pirate ship, a games park, a cinema and a multi-sports area. This family zone also houses the hotel’s redesigned Kids Club.
The new food court offers options such as a pizza place, a wok station, a fried chicken area, an ice cream parlour and a taqueria. In total, Riu Palace Bavaro now has 32 dining options.
The renovation also sees the addition of Riu’s Elite Club concept to Riu Palace Bavaro, where Elite Club guests will have access to amenities and perks such as a dedicated pool and bar area and priority check-in.
The hotel offers 108 rooms for its elite club guests, 60 of which have private pools.
