PUNTA CANA–The Dominican Republic Restaurant Association (Adeles) recognized Tourism Secretary David Collado for his significant support to the restaurant sector and promotion of sustainable gastronomic tourism initiatives. The award was presented during the 3rd Annual Restaurant Week Punta Cana, which aims to improve the gastronomy and restaurant scene of the Punta Cana and Bavaro regions.
Omar Cepeda, President of Adeles, underlined that this initiative is part of the SDQ Gastronomico 2024 route, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to developing sustainable gastronomic tourism in the country’s most popular tourist destinations. . The event will showcase the cuisine of the Dominican Republic, highlighting the diversity of local products and cultural influences.
Additionally, Restaurant Week Punta Cana 2023 recognized several restaurants for their excellence, including Malaria, SBG Punta Cana and Osteria Giorgetta. The event, which runs from October 7th to 13th, will feature a variety of participating establishments and will offer two- and three-course tasting menus for dinner. Sponsors of SDQ Gastronomico 2024 include American Express, the Ministry of Tourism, and a variety of local brands.
