It wasn’t your typical Caribbean renovation. All-inclusive brand Riu actually demolished one of its resorts in the Bavaro Beach area to make way for a major expansion at the resort next door.
result? The new and significantly larger all-inclusive Riu Palace Bavaro has just reopened in Punta Cana, the tourist capital of the Dominican Republic.
The renovated resort on Punta Cana’s Arena Gorda Beach now has nearly 1,000 rooms and is focused on families. This means our 255 rooms are customized for families and large groups, from extra beds to flexible configurations.
And family is clearly the focus here. We have a diverse and multi-layered kids’ club (with different concepts for each age group). Includes a mini splash park, a “pirate ship”, a game park and more.
On the gastronomic side, the resort has everything from a new French bakery to a taco shack.
You also have access to the major water park at the adjacent Riu Republic Resort.
Riu also added another nod to the increasingly popular option for all-inclusive travelers. The Elite Club offers elevated check-in, special amenities, private pool access, and upgraded drink dispensers (a Riu signature), as well as access to two swimming pools. Up bar.
The renovated Punta Cana Resort has a total of 108 elite club rooms that are well worth the splurge. The company says its 60 Elite Club rooms have their own private pools and amenities such as guaranteed late check-out and priority reservations at the resort’s dining options.
In recent years, Riu has been renovating resorts throughout a wide area of the Caribbean and Mexico. Bavaro’s complete renovation comes after Mr. Riu renovated the Riu Palace Macau Resort in Punta Cana last year, which also included a new Elite Club.
