PUNTA CANA – The “Scramble Open Punta Cana 2024” was held at La Cana Golf Club and Colales Golf Course, part of the Punta Cana Resort, with the Dominican Republic hosting this prestigious international event of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association. Terry Deitch and April Ramos of the Tucson, Arizona chapter were crowned champions of this tournament.
The two-day tournament began at the La Cana Golf Club on the Tortuga and Arrecife courses, with a break at the SBG Punta Cana Restaurant. As it is the only women’s tournament in the country, players, including the men’s team, were welcomed. This is a men’s category. The second round was held at Colares Golf Club to determine the winner.
The tournament was a couples scramble format, with Tullio Luna serving as technical director and utilizing Golf Genius technology. National and international participants enjoyed a well-organized event that cemented the Dominican Republic’s position as a premier golf destination in the Caribbean. The LPGA Amateur Golf Association DR will conclude the 2024 season with the Big3 Christmas Tournament on December 7th.
