Alajet begins operations at Punta Cana Airport (PUJ), marking a significant milestone as the airline surpasses 1 million passengers in 2024. CEO and Founder Victor Pacheco highlighted Alajet’s commitment to expanding its network throughout the Americas and transforming the Dominican Republic into a premier airline. hub. Frank Elias Rainieri, CEO of Punta Cana Group, acknowledged Arajet’s confidence in Punta Cana’s infrastructure and potential and praised Arajet’s role in strengthening tourism and air connectivity. Giovanni Rainieri, director of airside operations at Punta Cana Airport, highlighted the airline’s economic impact, including job creation and support for local businesses. He pointed to the airport’s status as a regional leader, handling 68% of the country’s tourist air traffic and connecting to 75 cities around the world.
Punta Cana will be Alajet’s third destination in Dominica, with flights to cities in Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada, Jamaica, Peru, Brazil and Chile. The airline continues to operate flights at Las Americas and Cibao airports. Currently the Dominican Republic’s top airline by passenger numbers, Alajet Airlines consistently carries more than 100,000 passengers per month, cementing its role in the development of the country’s civil aviation sector.
