Club Med Punta Cana reopened on Nov. 9 after being closed for nearly two months due to fire damage.
A fire broke out at the resort center in the early morning hours of September 12th, but no one was seriously injured and it was quickly extinguished. However, Club Med has temporarily closed its Dominican Republic resort for the safety of its guests after the resort center sustained significant damage.
Guest rooms, restaurants and public spaces were not affected by the fire. All resort offerings have now resumed, including dining, kids club programs and other activities.
“You can once again enjoy all the amenities that make Club Med Punta Cana the family flagship resort in the Dominican Republic,” Club Med said in a statement. “This includes Club Med’s extensive kids’ club (from 4 months to 17 years), dining at our seaside Hispaniola and Indigo restaurants, participating in exhilarating activities at the Circus School, and our exclusive, adults-only Includes relaxing in a zen oasis or a comfortable 5-star collection space, all on one of the most pristine palm-lined beaches in the Dominican Republic, with endless ocean views.
