The owners of the Cap Cana – Margaritaville Hotel have confirmed to arecoa.com that it will soon be managed by the Hyatt chain, replacing its current operator, Karisma Hotels. Dreams, a Hyatt brand, will operate the Cap Cana hotel property.
As arecoa.com has reported in recent months, multiple investors and chains have expressed interest in Margaritaville. Interest focused on both purchasing and management. Prior to Hyatt, there was contact with Jamaican Sandals.
However, the owners decided to continue as owners and enter into a management agreement with the prestigious Hyatt. Even if we have a very commercial brand like Margaritaville as a partner, the power of the North American brand is far greater than that of Charisma.
Below you will find the official statement from the company that owns the Playa Juanillo de Cap Cana hotel.
Cobo Bay Developers SA, the owner of the 519-room hotel complex on Juanillo Beach Cap Cana, currently operated by Karisma under the Margaritaville Island Reserve brand, has an executive committee and A meeting was held with other collaborators and a formal notification was issued in November. On the 27th of this year, Hyatt will take over the operational management of the hotel, which will operate under one of its trademarks and will become Dreams Cap Cana.
The hotel will remain open during this transition and renovation period, and Hyatt expects to issue a more detailed press release shortly outlining the nature and scope of the project.
