Melia Hotels International and tennis superstar Rafael Nadal are bringing lifestyle hotel brand Zelle to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The 190-room Zel Punta Cana, scheduled to open Dec. 12, is a rebranded Garden Suites by Melia. The renovated all-inclusive resort offers accommodations in a variety of categories ranging in size from 796 square feet to 2,152 square feet, including the two-bedroom Casa Zel Swim-Up Suite with terrace and Jacuzzi.
Guests have access to six culinary venues, including a Mediterranean-style buffet, a Mexican-Greek fusion concept, a Japanese restaurant, and a beach club.
Other amenities include two swimming pools, five tennis courts, meeting space, a spa, and a gym. The property will offer special programming through its Zel Club wellness and entertainment platform, including select weekend retreats, festivals and day parties.
Zel Punta Cana is Zel’s third property, following the brand’s launch in Mallorca in 2022 and Zel Costa Brava, which opened in Spain in 2023. It is also the flag state’s first all-inclusive resort.
Melia Hotels and Nadal have joined forces to debut the Mediterranean-inspired Zelle concept in late 2022.
