Punta Cana – Punta Cana has become a top destination for Argentine tourists, solidifying its position as a popular Caribbean vacation destination. Approximately 155,000 Argentineans visited the Dominican Republic through July of this year, an increase of 17% from the previous year. The number of Argentine arrivals is expected to increase by a further 10% in the upcoming summer season due to increased frequency of flights.
Argentina’s tourism growth is supported by a wide range of flight options, including direct flights from Air Argentina, Copa Airlines, Sky Airways and Alajet Airlines. Anticipating strong demand since adding direct flights to Punta Cana in October, AlaJet Airlines has introduced additional Saturday flights from December 14 to February 8, increasing the number of flights to 3,300 during the summer peak season. There are plans to add more seats. Air Argentina is also expanding, starting in January with six weekly flights from Buenos Aires, as well as new routes from Cordoba, Rosario and Tucuman.
Travel agencies report that Punta Cana is one of the most popular destinations for Argentines, especially those looking for a beach vacation. The region’s post-pandemic recovery has been rapid, and demand for all-inclusive packages remains strong, even though Brazil offers more affordable options. Punta Cana is expected to continue to grow in popularity, with many travel agencies listing it as one of next year’s top destinations.
