According to a Dominican Republic judge, the Iowa High School wrestling star, who was named “an interested” in the disappearance of University of Pittsburgh student Sudixsha Conanki, has been officially exempt from fraud.
The verdict by Judge Edwin Delgado concluded the famous ordeal of Joshua Libe, who was detained in the Caribbean after Conanki went missing after he swam outside the luxury Punta Cana resort on March 6, WJLA-TV News reported.
A court hearing Friday concludes an earlier ruling by Delgado, which was held without Riibe attending, allowing a 22-year-old St. Cloud State University senior to return to the Midwest.
Conanki, 20, a pre-built student in Pitt, was on spring break with friends at the Riu Hotel & Resort when he met Libe at the night out bar.
The two went for a swim in the rough surf on the resort’s beach, and Libe told police that she had pulled Conanki safely before crossing to the beach, but never saw her again.
Dominican authorities never identified Libe as a suspect or suspected foul play, but he was still detained as a prisoner at an island resort, burned repeatedly by police officers and even the country’s attorney general.
The latest information on missing pit students, Sudiksha Konanki, is:
Sudiksha Conanki, a student at the University of Pittsburgh, had spring break in Punta Cana before her loss. Conanki, a Virginia native, and her companions headed to the beach from the Ryurepubrica Hotel’s Disco early in the morning after the blackout. She was last seen alongside Joshua Stephen Libe, from Iowa. He was named “Interested Person.” Sheriff Mike Chapman, Conanki’s hometown of Loudoun County, Virginia, said it was previously too early to determine whether she had been drowned. Conanki’s parents asked Dominican Republic officials to declare her death, despite her body not recovering. Libe has been officially exempt from cheating on Conanki’s loss of failure.
The loss of Conanki’s Disappearance sparked a massive search that included more than 300 law enforcement officials at its height, including deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in Conanki’s hometown, Virginia.
The coed search tapered off after her family demanded that she be declared dead – her body was never found.

Before that court hearing, Conanki’s parents issued a statement asking them to clear the Libe. They had previously urged Dominican authorities to expand their investigation into the loss of their daughter and to consider whether she was a victim of the crime.
In an email to the post of the ruling Friday, Guzman Aliza’s Dominican law firm, who represented Libe in the case, said it simply confirmed that the decision was confirmed Delgado’s March 17 decision.
“The court ordered the immediate release of Mr. Liebe, as it exceeds the maximum period of up to 48 hours allowed under the Constitution of the Dominican Republic,” the company said.
“Guzman Aliza remains immovable in his commitment to defending the rule of law, ensuring that citizens and foreign citizens can trust the protection of their fundamental rights in the Dominican Republic.”
