Speedy. Lamb Club. Taproom. Noodle bar. These are not the first things you think of when dreaming about even the most creative all-inclusive resorts. For the latest comprehensive brand in the Caribbean, that’s exactly what it is.
Less than a month later, the W Hotels brand has entered the inclusive space, an exciting new entry into the Dominican Republic’s ultra-competitive market.
The new W Punta Cana features many signatures for starters first, first to the boutique style city hotel Pantheon, wet deck, living room and fit gym Pantheon.
However, unlike the average W hotel in New York or LA, Uvero Alto Beach Resort (right of Punta Cana) has 13 different dining concepts called parent company Marriott. This means a “trade market” with live-action food stations instead of traditional buffets. Beer halls are actually part of a comprehensive plan. Asian street style noodles and wok restaurant. And yes, even a speakeasy called 33 1/3.
It all sounds very cool, but we are excited about Marriott’s pretty comprehensive push outlook, expanding to the beloved W brand.
The 340-room hotel opened on April 15th, and the Caribbean Journal is studying, and rooms can be booked that day.
So, what else do you need to know?

In line with the atmosphere (and the current trends in Caribbean travel), it is an adult-only hotel, with an away spa (amenities with 10 treatment rooms and a “cabin” of saunas, a fit gym, and another popular aspect of Caribbean hotels, a wide slate of activities covering health, culture and adventure.
The idea is to “move, explore, connect,” says W.
The rooms start with a “premier” option, with a king bed and tropical view ($1,900 per night in April), two king beds and a private pool ($2,160 per night), and big options such as the W Suite and Larimar Penthouse Suite (a large option such as three bedrooms and a private pool).

So how do you get there? You’ll fly to Punta Cana’s excellent airport (one of the region’s favorites) and make a short 15-minute transfer to Ubelo Alto.
Flights to Punta Cana are widely available, according to Google Flights options.
