HOLLYWOOD – Hard Rock International casinos, hotels and cafes around the world celebrated Earth Hour 2025 on Saturday, March 22nd. Earth Hour is a global movement created by the World Wildlife Fund to encourage countries, businesses, individuals and iconic landmarks around the world to take action to protect nature. This year, more than 130 Hard Rock properties filled their time with off-grid guest activities to emphasize the importance of prioritizing sustainability and reducing energy consumption, and to connect guests with Mother Nature through all five senses.
Activities included more than 25 nature-inspired dinners, more than 40 live acoustic music performances, 25 community cleanups, and 13 tree-planting events, totaling more than 50,000 hours dedicated to the planet.
Highlights from around the world include:
Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya celebrated Earth Hour by hosting an eco tour, community cleanup, and golf cart upcycling contest. The property also offered guests the opportunity to reconnect with nature through yoga and hiking. Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast has launched Echoes of the Wild, an immersive rainforest experience that visually and bioacoustically celebrates nature. Renowned naturalist Mr. Irshad Mobarak held a powerful session on wildlife conservation in Desaru. Additionally, the facility upcycled old team member uniforms into denim backpacks and donated the proceeds to Stingless Beehive. Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta team members headed to the beach to decontaminate the area before participating in a sandcastle building contest, arts and crafts for kids, s’mores, and an acoustic candlelight concert. Hard Rock Hotel Bali offered guests a ‘Dinner in the Dark’ experience with live acoustic music, as well as an unforgettable turtle release, mangrove planting and children’s recycling activities. To mark the occasion, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana organized a beach cleanup, planted greenery with children from the ROXITY Kids Club, and hosted a pool relay race, which was attended by 1,298 guests.
Hard Rock’s environmental awareness will continue through Earth Month and Earth Day 2025 through the efforts of our team members. Additionally, members of the Unity™ by Hard Rock global loyalty program will receive 20% off all Candlelight Concerts at Hard Rock Hotels in the U.S. for the remainder of 2025.
We are proud to engage our guests and communities in small actions that drive broad change to protect the environment. We would also like to thank our team members for putting our ‘Save the Planet’ motto into practice with their creative guest experiences, and we look forward to continuing to drive change with their dedication. “Hard Rock International is proud to be a leader in global social responsibility,” said Paul Pelizzari, Hard Rock International’s Vice President of Global Social Responsibility.
