The Dominican Republic continues to be one of the top tourist destinations in the Caribbean. To meet this growing demand, leading hotel brands from Club Med to W Hotels, The St. Regis and Marriott Bonvoy are debuting reimagined resorts that cater to every type of traveler.
Here are 10 recently opened properties to start recommending to your clients.
Club Med Punta Cana
One of Club Med’s top properties undergoing innovative renovations scheduled to be completed this fall. The all-inclusive Club Med Punta Cana renovation adds a dining experience designed by GG&Grace International, new social areas and state-of-the-art accommodations.
The newly renovated Costa del Coco Deluxe Rooms feature private balconies and spa-style bathrooms with rain showers that reflect the beauty and tranquility of the Dominican Republic coastline. Other significant updates include the Buena Vista Lounge. El Mundo Food Club offers five different concepts, from elegant French cuisine to grill experiences. Latest information on the poolside Joya bar. And a new coffee shop.
Secrets and Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa
Hyatt Inclusive Collection opened the adults-only Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa in August of this year, followed by its family-friendly sister property, Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, in September. Both resorts are located on the secluded northeast coast of the island in the Miches region.
With 500 suites, Secrets’ design combines textures and colors inspired by the diverse landscapes of the Caribbean. The property features 11 dining options and seven bars, including signature restaurant Dona Altagracia, a modern take on the traditional Dominican culinary experience.

At Secrets Spa, guests can choose from a variety of treatments, including the option to create their own scrubs and masks using locally sourced ingredients. Guests can upgrade to Preferred Club to enhance their travel experience with exclusive butler service, exclusive lounges, pools, and in-room amenities.
Meanwhile, Dreams Resort has an additional 500 rooms and suites, some with direct access to the swim-out.

The property is helmed by Executive Chef Carlos Quijano and features 10 restaurants and 7 bars. Culinary highlights include Tierra, which serves South American cuisine; El Patio serves à la carte Mexican cuisine. and 1844 Dominican Cuisine, which pays homage to traditional Dominican cuisine.
There are also plenty of activities for families, including Explorers Club for kids ages 3-12 and Core Zone Teens Club for ages 13-17. Children can take a dip in the on-site water park, while adults can enjoy some relaxation at the Secrets Spa.
The Dreams and Secrets resorts are connected by a shared “public square,” and adults staying at either property have full access to the amenities of both. Both facilities also partner with Promiches, a local organization focused on sustainability. In this collaborative effort, Secrets and Dreams is installing equipment to protect sea turtle nesting sites along the coast.
Fiesta Americana Fanique Punta Cana
Also scheduled to open this fall is Fiesta Americana Funique Punta Cana, the brand’s first resort outside of Mexico (part of Grupo Posadas). Located on Uvero Alto Beach, this 498-room property is designed to welcome all types of travelers, from families to couples to business groups.

Guests can spend the day at the on-site water park, 3 pools, or bowling center, or catch a show at the theater. Young children can take part in fun activities at the dedicated kids club, while adults can unwind and relax at the spa. When you’re hungry, the resort’s 10 restaurants offer a variety of dining options, from upscale steakhouses to grab-and-go taco stands.
Zel Punta Cana
The grand opening of the AAA Four Diamond Zel Punta Cana, celebrated in March, brought a touch of Mediterranean lifestyle to the Caribbean (although the property officially debuted in December 2024).
This is the first hotel to be built in the Caribbean in collaboration with Melia Hotels International and iconic athlete Rafael Nadal, and is located just a short walk from Bavaro Beach. The all-suite resort has 190 guest rooms, including a master suite and swim-up suites with private gardens. The resort’s design draws inspiration from the Mediterranean, offering guests the opportunity to socialize in luxurious outdoor spaces or relax on the beachfront.

Cuisine options include wood-fired cuisine at Volcan, Japanese-Mediterranean fusion cuisine at Nokyo, and local specialties at all-day dining and beach club Parda. The on-site Zel Club offers a weekly program where guests can participate in group fitness activities and special classes centered around Pilates, running sessions and yoga. The club also hosts weekend retreats, seasonal festivals, and day parties.
JdV by Hyatt Debut: Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana
Hyatt Hotels Corporation, in collaboration with Grupo Martinon, opened Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana in July of this year. The hotel is approximately 25 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport in the El Cortecito area near Bavaro.

This 66-room property features amenities such as a tranquil pool, event terrace, and 24-hour fitness center. On-site restaurants include the signature Amber Fusion Cuisine Restaurant, Pool Bar Colon, and Royal Beach Lobby Bar.
All-inclusive day passes to nearby Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts are also available. Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana ($60) and Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana ($50). These day passes give you access to Los Corales Beach, tennis courts, pickleball courts, restaurants, bars, and more.
The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort
The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort opened on May 1, debuting as the brand’s first property in the Dominican Republic. This resort is located on private property in Cap Cana, along one of the island’s longest white sand beaches. The 200-room resort is designed to combine St. Regis’ 100 years of sophistication and detail with Dominican culture and hospitality. The interior, for example, is accented with local artisan touches inspired by the Dominican “faceless doll,” a symbol of inclusivity and unity.

The resort features nine restaurants, including Nina Restaurant, helmed by Peruvian chef Diego Muñoz, and the signature St. Regis Bar, where guests can enjoy omakase-style snacks, caviar ceremonies, and the brand’s signature champagne serving. Other notable restaurants include Marola Mediterranean Grill, Kawa Coffee Shop, and Carey Bay Beach Bar.

The resort has four swimming pools, a Children’s and Teens Club, and access to the nearby Punta Espada Golf Course. Guests can also enjoy The Amber Room cigar bar and The St. Regis Spa, which specializes in treatments rooted in local ingredients.
Marriott Miches Beach, an all-inclusive resort
Marriott Mitches Beach All-Inclusive Resort opened earlier this year as a renovated rebrand of Sunrise Mitches Beach Resort. The brand’s first all-inclusive property in the Caribbean is located on Miches’ waterfront location along nearly four miles of golden sand beach. Some renovations include updated interiors and new culinary options.
There are 4 restaurants, 3 bars, 2 pools, a spa, and a fitness center on site. Other highlights include seven event spaces fully equipped to accommodate your celebration or business needs.

W Punta Cana Adult All Inclusive
Marriott is on a roll this year, making another exciting debut with DR:W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive, the brand’s first adult-only all-inclusive resort, which opened on August 19th. With 340 guest rooms, this property offers an elevated all-inclusive experience, perfect for a secluded beachfront vacation. Rooms start at 700 square feet and all feature king-sized beds and bathtubs. 46 suites offer swim-up access, and some have full-size private pools.

W Punta Cana features five restaurants, including a unique trade market that functions as a food hall with live cooking stations inspired by street food from around the world. There are also a number of lounge experiences, from the modern microbrewery Taproom, to the social hub Taman Beach Club, to the secret music-focused 33 1/3 Speakeasy. Enjoy tranquil wellness options including an away spa with 10 treatment rooms, a sauna, and a full-service salon.
Wyndham Altra Punta Cana All Inclusive Resort
Playa Hotels & Resorts hosted the grand opening of the Wyndham Altra Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort on March 10th. Built on Uvero Alto Beach, the resort features 620 state-of-the-art rooms and suites, one of the largest free-form pools in the Caribbean, a fitness center, a full-service spa, and a kids club. Families can visit the on-site Splash Island Water Park, where they can swim in the lazy river and slide down four water slides. After a day in the sun, grab a bite to eat at the Splash Bites food truck.
The resort offers a wide variety of cuisines in 20 restaurants and bars. After dinner, retire to Twisted Olive for a refreshing cocktail and enjoy daily live entertainment. Rooms feature furnished patios, free Wi-Fi, and daily-stocked minibars. The resort’s décor pays homage to the Caribbean’s colonial heritage with accents of green, blue, and pink.
