PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – As part of the DATE 2025 celebrations, Grupo Posadas hosted an event at the Live Acqua Punta Cana hotel, attended by tour operators and the group’s key production accounts, to announce the opening of its new resort, Fiesta Americana Funique Punta Cana, scheduled for summer 2025.
This new hotel concept is designed to provide an unforgettable experience for families, friends and business travelers and will be located adjacent to the adults-only luxury hotel Live Acqua Punta Cana, expanding the chain’s presence in the region.
During the event, Berger Group Hotels President Tania Berger expressed her enthusiasm for the opening of Fiesta Americana Funique Punta Cana. She also shared great news regarding the acquisition of a new hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, which Grupo Posadas will also manage.
Enrique Calderon, Vice President of Upscale and Luxury at Grupo Posadas, explained that the new resort’s name, “Funique,” comes from the combination of the English words “fun” and “unique,” reflecting its essence of providing unique and enjoyable experiences for all guests.
The concept represents the brand’s vision of celebrating life through memorable moments, whether it’s family, friends or business events.
Fiesta Americana Funique Punta Cana’s main attractions include a water park suitable for all ages, a bowling center, and multiple courts for paddle tennis, basketball, and soccer.
Additionally, the resort shares facilities with Live Aqua Punta Cana. Live Acqua Punta Cana is a modern convention center with 10 multifunctional rooms equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, perfect for events and large-scale celebrations.
