Why make a reservation?
Part of Hyatt’s Zilara branch, this illustrious address is well-connected to other notable hotels such as Zilara Cancun and Zilara Montego Bay. These are all prime examples of what a laid-back, languid beach vacation can be like, where you can refuel with sunshine and a luxuriously relaxing pool.
set the scene
Hyatt Zilara is an adults-only space where you can enjoy all that Punta Cana has to offer: the resort’s enchanting pool and sparkling sands on the beach. The newest addition to Punta Cana’s coastline is full of kitschy glitz, including a fitness center modeled after a traditional rum distillery and a sky-lit lagoon infused with Larimar stone, intertwining harmoniously with the must-have façade of any Caribbean resort. The endless hues of the pool’s water reflect off the vanilla white walls, the palm trees ripple in the warm Caribbean sun, and the birds of the Antilles hop from branch to branch like bird pinballs. A stunning infinity pool surrounded by floating palm trees and palm huts stretches out in front of the beach, with sun loungers soaking up the sun in the blurred horizon of the pool and beach.
inside story
Hyatt Zilara is Hyatt’s first branch on the Dominican coast, followed by Ziva Cap Cana, a family-friendly resort that boasts a water park, zip lines, and daily activities to keep kids busy while mom and dad sip drinks by the pool. This bright, modern complex, spread across 40 secluded beachline acres, was built from the ground up by local architects and completed in 2019.
room
The property has 375 guest rooms, including junior suites, master suites, and swim-up rooms, but if you think this is just a swappable Hyatt resort, think again. Each room is decorated in a Caribbean lodge-meets-modern-island style, with iridescent carpets and mosaics, low-slung furniture in sandstone hues, and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors offering stunning views of Caribbean coral reefs. Ocean View Suites are designed for honeymooners and couples seeking a romantic getaway and feature fully stocked minibars, grand patios with private hot tubs, sweeping ocean views, and open-plan layouts averaging 600 square feet. The appearance of the room is elegant yet carefree, and you can feel luxurious without having to change out of your swimsuit.
spa
Imagine yourself enjoying a back massage under a Larimar stone cave. The water makes a soothing sound from the rocks. After 10 minutes of a private (or couples) massage, your daily worries seem to disappear. The transcendental and mystical experience concludes with a soak in the hot tub. The experience at this spa is truly magical.
Eating and drinking
In keeping with the Zilara restaurant tradition, we offer a wide range of fresh produce, with an emphasis on local fish, meat and vegetables. Vegetarians, vegans, and those who prefer other plant-based diets will be pleased with the menu, which has plenty of options to accommodate dietary restrictions, including fruit so ripe you’d think it was harvested minutes before your meal (mango, pineapple, guava, papaya).
Breakfast is really great. While cuisine from around the world is served buffet-style, we recommend sticking to local delicacies, such as fried foods and platters of rich, juicy fruit native to the Dominican coast. You’ll also find exemplary fine dining, including Brando’s, a French-Tahitian restaurant serving delicious seafood surrounded by black-bottomed pools and romantic waves of light. Alternatively, just enjoying a delicious pastry and coffee at the coffee house is the perfect way to start your day or end your evening with an Italian-style espresso.
service
Hyatt Zilara’s more than 200 staff members are warm and welcoming. Without exception, they are honest and eager to share information about the resort and its vibrant culture. Want to learn more about Dominican cuisine? Here’s a cookbook’s worth of local specialties. Are you interested in Dominican music? They’ll even have a playlist for you. Even if you arrive at the resort without knowing anyone, you’ll leave knowing more about hundreds of friendly staff, the history of Dominican cuisine, and more about cigars than you ever thought possible.
accessibility
The entire resort is wheelchair accessible.
