No matter where you are on any block in New York City, you can stop by this award-winning spot and enjoy a bite to eat. Yes, you can fly to Paris, Rome, or Tokyo for a Michelin-starred meal. But if you want to experience global flavors that will tantalize all your taste buds at once, there’s only one place to go. And it’s probably not where you expect.

With 67 luxurious villas, suites and bungalows, plus a sparkling pool, spa, kids’ club and private beach, Eden Roc Cap Cana is already well-known as a premier luxury destination that attracts jet-sets from around the world. Oh, and of course, there’s also a private cenote, access to a seaside golf course, and an equestrian center. Because there’s no reason not to. But what it may be less well-known is that it’s home to some of the best, rave-worthy bars and restaurants, making it a must-see for even the most discerning of foodies.
“To me, a truly memorable vacation, beyond enjoying a beautiful beach, is about the tastes, the aromas, and the meals you eat together that stay with you long after you get home,” explains Adriano Venturi, the resort’s executive chef. “At Eden Roc Cap Cana, food has the power to bring people together and tell the story of a place.”
The resort offers the best in fusion cuisine, including spicy appetizers like Blue’s Crispy Rice Tuna, La Palapa’s Italian Dishes with Spiny Lobster Spaghetti (they also serve arguably the best spaghetti pomodoro I’ve had on the planet), and Mediterranean-inspired dishes like Mediterraneo’s Black Truffle Ribs, ensuring everyone has the meal they’re looking for. However, this is also a place where you can take the taste home with you through various cooking classes. Each cooking class is led by the resort’s chef, who is happy to teach you traditional techniques for creating the perfect mofongo. (Yes, mine were delicious, but mashing those plantains is not for the faint of heart or arms.)
There will also be expert wine, rum and cacao tastings (each paired with handmade truffles by the pastry team) and mixology classes where guests can create their own cocktails using local ingredients.

But then again, the team here isn’t content with just serving classic plated meals. They are well known for going above and beyond to make all your food dreams come true, including planning dinners in private cenotes with live music to set the romantic atmosphere. Want to eat? One of the resort’s chefs (or Venturi himself, if you’re lucky) will prepare dinner for you in your own villa.
(This includes the new 11-bedroom Founders Villa at one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean.)
Need more? Venturi is constantly creating new culinary journeys that “celebrate the richness of the local Caribbean and Mediterranean elegance, showcasing the best of Mediterranean craftsmanship with Dominican ingredients.” He is particularly excited about upcoming immersive events, including the upcoming Omakase All Italiana, which fuses gastronomy, music and culture and is designed down to the last detail to stimulate all the senses. On this journey, guests will enjoy the flavors of Italy, including the finest wines, combined with the perfect Caribbean breeze. It certainly sounds like a (food) paradise to me.
